I honestly have not chosen my primary candidate, but a friend sent this to me. The boy/man who wrote this is a cousin of a friend. He has twin cousins who have each served two tours in this war/occupation. One of the twins was wounded during his last tour. This man rcvd one of those "who is Barack" e-mails that has gone viral from his grandpa. This was his response:
Dear Friends,
Who cares what Obama's religion is. If he is selected as President of the United States, I'll follow him and whatever orders he gives. And I'm a white Republican going into the Marine Corps as a 2ndLt with a Methodist upbringing. Barack Obama is a unifier. Look at his track record and his progress as a community organizer for a church in Chicago. That's more committment to the common people than most other politicans can even begin to claim. If he does have ties to Islam then that can only help us with rebuilding relationships with the Middle Eastern countries that we've alienated thus far in our "war on terror." Even if Obama did want to "attack us from the inside out" as this message claims, it would be impossible for one man to do that with the American people he has politically surrounded himself with. There is no military commander alive that would think to launch an attack onto our own soil and comply with such a rediculous order, even from the highest power there is. If that was truly the case then Obama would be ousted immediately by people serving in his cabinet. But that's not the case. Obama has diligently served the people of Illinois and is now seeking the chance to serve our nation. What amazes me is that an attack could be circulated on the basis of one man's beliefs. Doesn't Christianity teach acceptance of others? Islam does, too. It is irrelevant that Barack could have been influenced by radical beliefs as a child. Not everyone with "Hussein" in their name is bad. That's like saying an adopted kid from North Korea is going to swear allegiance to Kim Jong Il even though they were raised in the U.S. after the age of 5 with another family. It simply doesn't stick. Unless someone sees a family member killed in front of them, they aren't going to have that kind of perpetual hatred. That sort of talk is rediculous and to forward it onto others is even more preposterous.
Barack Obama should be commended for bringing the political process back into the hands of the people. Hillary Clinton, who I've listened to recently in person, is now resorting to harsh tactics after the polls declared Obama to have a higher percentage of the vote. Looks like her supporters are as well. Clinton still aims to hide things, whereas Obama acknowledges boundaries but seeks to squeeze them for as much can be publicly allowed. Obama has a bigger grroots campaign and far more supporters from all sorts of races and religions.
I can say with certainty that I don't want whoever wrote this email to be leading our nation or influencing its beliefs. If you've perpetuated this email then I suggest you take another look and dig for facts on your own. Yes, the whites are becoming a minority. While this may be hard for some to acknowledge, in twenty years we will be a minority. So accept it and acknowledge that a Black president with other religious ties is possible in a nation that accepts people from all backgrounds. America is great because of the melting pot we have. It is great because people like Obama step up to serve others. Unless you're a Native American, you're an immigrant, too. This email reminds me of people who refuse to acknowledge global warming and stick their heads in the sand. Yes, that is real, too, whether you like Al Gore or not. I didn't vote for him, but the message he brings is relevant. It doesn't mean someone should discredit his contribution to society either. That said, I hope you won't discredit Obama's efforts. He's trying to contribute real change and is one politician who refuses to accept political funding from political action committees or lobbyist groups.
Search your soul for what is right, because forwarding an email like this is not.

I met this boy about 20-25 years ago when his great grandma died. IMO he has become a heck of a man!
The spelling errors are his, this is a kid with ADHD who fought his way through college so he can become an officer.
